Dr. He was an AOPT Trustee and the host of the 2023 AOPT Satellite Meeting in Shenyang, China. He envisions that AOPT is far more than an academic society – it is the vital bridge connecting scientific breakthroughs to the real world. The challenge we face today is not a shortage of scientific discoveries, but the gap between bench and bedside. Dr. He’s entire career has been dedicated to bridging this gap. He is an ophthalmologist, a medical educator, and an entrepreneur. Over the past 30 years, as the founder of the He Eye Specialist Hospital and He University, he has established a unique “Medical–Education–Research–Industry”  ecosystem. This model serves millions of patients annually while nurturing translational innovation. Additionally, serving as a Trustee of the International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness (IAPB) has empowered him to facilitate partnerships between governments, NGOs, and industries across Asia and Africa. He is committed to applying this practical experience building collaborative ecosystems and bridging cultural divides – to serve AOPT and its members.  The long-term vitality of AOPT is closely linked to our young investigators. He is committed to mobilizing resources for their growth and to championing initiatives that support global mobility.
