Claudio Bucolo, PhD, AOPT Fellow, FARVO is Full Professor of Pharmacology at the University of Catania Medical School, Catania, Italy. He received the “Dr. Roger Vogel Award” for pharmaceutical research. His research interest is in the field of ocular pharmacology, particularly in the field of anti-glaucoma drugs, diabetic retinopathy treatment and ocular drug delivery. Dr. Bucolo is an active scientist with over 250 peer-reviewed scientific papers and several patents. Dr. Bucolo serves as Associate Editor of international journals in the field of pharmacology. From 2023 Editorial Board Member of Journal of Ocular Pharmacology and Therapeutics. He has been the supervisor of several PhD, MD and PharmD students. In addition to directing an active lab, Dr. Bucolo is the Coordinator of the PhD Program in Neuroscience at the University of Catania. He also claimed extensive international service experience in other scientific societies such as, among others, ARVO where he served as Member and President of the AMPC twice in 2010/13 and 2017/19.
